eToro announces new crypto exchange, mobile wallet and US expansion

(PRESS RELEASE) -- After more than 10 years of being a leader in the global Fintech scene, eToro has made three new announcements that will further position it as a leader in the industry. Announced by CEO Yoni Assia during his keynote speech at CoinDesk’s Consensus 2018 event in New York City, eToro will soon launch a cryptocurrency exchange and a mobile wallet. Both the exchange and wallet will be available globally, and for the first time in eToro’s history, will also be introduced in the U.S.

Also, eToro will be launching its online trading platform in the U.S. with an offering of 10 different cryptocurrencies, and other key eToro features, such as copy trading and a Crypto CopyFund investment strategy.

“U.S. crypto holders have a strong appetite for diversified portfolios,” said Assia when announcing the launch, “we’re committed to offering the best tools and assets to help them manage their investments all in one place.”

eToro U.S.A. will be led by Managing Director Guy Hirsch, who previously served as Director of Innovation Strategy at Samsung. “We know that there is a strong demand in the U.S. for crypto and we are excited to be able to offer U.S. investors the opportunity to learn about and invest across multiple cryptocurrencies,” said Hirsch.

Both the crypto exchange and the mobile wallet will be gradually introduced globally over the coming months. The U.S. launch will soon enable traders to experiment with the exchange, using a free $100K demo account.

During his keynote speech at Consensus 2018, Yoni outlined eToro’s plans to launch a crypto to crypto exchange and a crypto wallet, and making them available to crypto traders around the world. The global demand for cryptocurrencies is constantly rising.

As part of eToro’s constant effort to give its clients direct access to global markets, we will be launching a cryptocurrency mobile wallet, which will eventually be available for both iOS and Android devices. The eToro crypto wallet, to be launched globally, will eventually have all of the functions of a typical electronic wallet and some other features, which will give our users added value.

Traders and investors around the world are gradually becoming more involved in the crypto space, and eToro’s new crypto exchange and wallet will give them a rounded solution for all of their crypto trading needs.

Continuing our global expansion

The coming additions to eToro’s global offering come on the heels of the recently announced Series E funding round, in which eToro raised $100 million. Entering the U.S. market, as well as expanding our cryptocurrency offering to our existing clients in 140 countries around the world, will further solidify eToro’s position as a global Fintech leader.
